A personal note from Shawn:

I started this campaign wanting transparency in government. I desperately wanted City Hall to teach us why they do what they do. I wanted City Hall to be accountable and explain to us, the people of Sacramento, without us having to beg, dig or scrounge to understand why they did what they did.

I wanted to force city leaders to be accountable for their actions; to feel the pain of their bad decisions and economic times; to understand how the self employed and/or the residents feel the pain of their own bad decisions and economic times. We have to be accountable for our actions so it is only right that our elected officials be accountable for theirs.

I have learned how the city revenue streams work and that all good things, i.e., police, fire, and community programs are supported by our tax dollars. The importance of growth and development in Sacramento is clear. I am looking at how the city deals with development and how it seems to be difficult for Sacramento to pull off any deal or get smart development that benefits the people  as opposed to just agreeing with what the developers want to give us.  

It is obvious what our greatest need is. Sacramento needs a leader and a group of leaders (Mayor & council) who can convince the community ( both business and residents) as well as the rest of the world how great Sacramento is and can be.

We need a leader who truly believes that Sacramento is the most livable city in the world.  Everything that comes in and out of City Hall needs to emulate the greatness of our city!  We should not concentrate on what does not work or what will not work. We should concentrate on the fact that it will work and is working, always! Until our leaders eat, drink, and sleep the greatness that is our city, nobody else will.

ITS TIME TO REMIND OUR LEADERS  THAT SACRAMENTO ROCKS! TO LET THEM KNOW THAT WE, THE PEOPLE, WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY LEADER WHO DOES NOT AGREE!
